Ridges of Snowdonia

Friday - Pick up at Bangor railway station at 8:45.  Then we drive into the National park via the spectacular Ogwen Valley, from where we will walk one of the ridges in the Carneddau Range. This is the highest plateau area in the UK outside of Scotland, and offers some wild and exciting walking, with the possibility of some basic scrambling. We walk for 6-7 hours, then drive to the overnight accommodation in Beddgelert.

Saturday - A big day today as, weather permitting we will do the Snowdon Horseshoe. A demanding but very satisfying walk, with some scrambling and a notorious narrow ridge to cross. This requires a head for heights, but is well worth the effort. If the weather is not suitable, we will either do a ridge walk in the Glyder range, or find another route of interest on Snowdon. The days walking will be between 6 and 8 hours.

Sunday - Today we visit the beautiful Nantlle Ridge. This is on the Western side of the Park, with views out towards Ireland. The walking is varied, and includes some steep downhill sections. This must be one of the most interesting walks in Snowdonia, and we will take up to 6 hours. Then we will return to Bangor, aiming to arrive late afternoon/early evening.

Client Comment:

"The weekend was fabulous - I couldn't believe how away from the beaten track we managed to get. The solitude combined with the scenery was an unexpected delight. The combination of walks you put together for us was perfect - it really was a bit of everything - I even liked the scary bits!"  - Maggie
