Long Weekend Trips
Snowdonia Highlights - 2 Nights
Friday - Pick up at 9.30am in Chester. Drive to Snowdonia National Park, where we climb Tryfan, one of Wales' most distinctive peaks. If the weather is not suitable we will go to the Devil's Kitchen in the beautiful Cwm Idwal and climb the slightly higher but easier Y Garn instead. Overnight in Betws-y-Coed.
Saturday - Today we climb Snowdon, the highest peak in the UK outside of Scotland. A long and fairly demanding day on good paths, with beautiful views towards Ireland. Overnight in Betws-y-Coed.
Sunday - Our final day takes us to the free standing Moel Siabod - a lovely walk on a beautiful hill, with some basic scrambling if weather permits. Late afternoon return to Chester.

Ridges of Snowdonia
A three day trip staying in
the heart of Snowdonia, and walking some of the stunning ridges in the
area
 |
Friday: Pick up at Chester Railway Station
at 8.30. Then we drive into the National park via the
spectacular Ogwen Valley, from where we will walk one of the
ridges in the Carneddau Range. This is the highest plateau area
in the UK outside of Scotland, and offers some wild and exciting
walking, with the possibility of some basic scrambling. We walk
for 6-7 hours, then drive to the overnight accommodation in
Betws-y-Coed.
Saturday: A big day today as, weather
permitting we will do the Snowdon Horseshoe. A demanding but
very satisfying walk, with some scrambling and a notorious
narrow ridge to cross. This requires a head for heights, but is
well worth the effort. If the weather is not suitable, we will
either do a ridge walk in the Glyder range, or find another
route of interest on Snowdon. The days walking will be between 6
and 8 hours.
Sunday: Today we visit the beautiful
Nantlle Ridge. This is on the Western side of the Park, with
views out towards Ireland. The walking is varied, and includes
some steep downhill sections. This must be one of the most
interesting walks in Snowdonia, and we will take up to 6 hours.
Then we will return to Chester, aiming to arrive late afternoon/
early evening. |
COST:
Prices from £245 per person.
Accommodation:
Hotel, guesthouse or bunkhouse, B&B or full board
Packed Lunches: included all 3 days.
